Returning to the location at Claridge’s, the shop displays new works from the highly admired Tauba Auerbach, the young Eindhoven-based studio OS ? OOS and Philippe Malouin who is 2012 Design/ Miami’s ‘Designer of the Future’. Furthermore the shop features installations, limited-editions and prints by artists and designers such as Max Lamb, Martino Gamper, Michael Anastassiades, Faye Toogood, Bethan Laura Wood, David David, Snarkitecture, Brunno Jahara, Humans Since 1982, Victoria Wilmotte, Jonathan Muecke, Oevffice, and Ben Adams.

The third Architecture & Design Film Festival opened today at the Music Box Theatre in Chicago. The 31 films are dedicated to forward thinking individuals and breathtaking examples of architecture and design. A not to be missed film is ‘Detroit Wild City’ by Florent Tillon exploring how Detroit changed when businesses fled and the fascination with dystopia. In ‘Mission statements’ Jord den Hollander examines the results of national programs to promote Dutch design and diplomacy in embassies. The married couple Charles and Ray Eames and their careers as design innovators are portrayed in ‘Eames: The Architect and the Painter’ by Jason Cohn and Bill Jersey.

Besides the screenings, discussions with filmmakers, architects and designers are held. This year’s speakers include: Bill Finnegan, Sarah Herda, Charlie Hoxie, Victoria Lautman, Brad Lynch, Robert Nevel, Michael B. Rosen and more.
